The sweet potato is a climate-resilient crop with immense nutritional and economic potential. However, disjointed systems often hold back our farmers and processors. We exist to identify and address bottlenecks within the sweet potato value chain, from production to consumption, to enhance efficiency and reduce losses. We foster collaboration among value chain actors, including farmers, processors, marketers, and retailers, to create an integrated and resilient value chain. Whether it is expanding local consumer markets or reaching international buyers, we provide the resources, advocacy, and innovations needed to help our sector thrive.

Our Strategic Pillars

Production & Processing: We promote sustainable farming practices and facilitate the development of facilities to process raw sweet potatoes into high-value products like flour, chips, and starch.
Capacity Building & Inclusion: We offer specialized training programs on sustainable agriculture and business management. We also actively implement programs to empower women and youth with the skills and resources needed to succeed in this sector.
Global Export Readiness: We identify high-demand export markets and provide the necessary training to ensure our products meet international quality, safety, and phytosanitary standards.
Input & Equipment Supply: We work to ensure value chain actors have access to affordable, high-quality inputs like seeds and fertilizers, alongside modern farming and processing machinery.

Who We Serve

Our association provides tailored support across the entire ecosystem: Farmers & Input Suppliers: We facilitate the supply of high-quality agricultural inputs such as seeds, fertilisers, pesticides, and irrigation equipment to sweet potato farmers. We also promote the adoption of modern equipment and machinery for sweet potato farming, processing, and packaging. Processors & Innovators: We encourage value addition at different stages of the value chain, including pre-harvest, post-harvest, processing, and packaging. Women & Youth: We implement programs that empower women and youth within the sweet potato value chain by providing them with the skills, resources, and opportunities needed to thrive.
